Lance Bass Wedding Cake
Michael Segal

Lance Bass and Michael Turchin‘s wedding cake was truly a work of art!

The couple — who married on December 20 in L.A. with an elaborate celebration orchestrated by wedding planner Sharon Sacks — worked with Kimberly Bailey of The Butter End Cakery to design a one-of-a-kind cake.

“They [originally] wanted a royal wedding-inspired cake, a white cake with metallic accents,” Bailey tells PEOPLE. “We were designing that collectively and then I found out that Michael’s an artist. We pulled up his artwork and I saw how vibrant and pop culture-inspired it is. I had sitting in front of me two vibrant, pop culture guys, and one of them created this vibrant fun art. I’m like, why don’t we use the art as the cake. The cake became a giant canvas to recreate his artwork.”

To incorporate them both into the design, they used an existing portrait of Turchin, who also sent over a portrait of Bass and six different painting backgrounds for Bailey to choose from. The winner: a 70s-esque, smiley face mosaic design.

Instagram Photo

“One side of the cake gives you one full image and the other gives you another full image, but if you look at it from an angle you actually can see the two of them together,” says Bailey, who also created Kaley Cuoco‘s gravity-defying, upside-down wedding cake last year. Using complimentary colors, the baker sought to create “a cohesive piece.”

The seven-tiered cake took about three days to make, but Bailey says “it was super fun and rewarding because I wanted to honor the vibe of Michael’s work. It was completely unique and really, really personal for them.”

As for the flavors, Bass and Turchin opted for The Butter End’s signature carrot cake with walnuts and cream cheese frosting and chocolate almond cherry with a cherry buttercream frosting. “We gave them five different flavors to choose from and they loved them all,” Bailey says. “It was adorable. They were really enthustastic about the cake.”

She’s like a mini Madame Tussauds figure made with cake batter!

The Dowager Countess, the acerbic grand dame played by Maggie Smith on Masterpiece Theater’s Downton Abbey, was recently reborn as a life-like dessert for a season five premiere event at the Fox Theater in Atlanta.

The so-real-it’s-spooky bust, which featured the character in a purple coat, elaborate hat and elegant jewels, was made by a local baker and chocolate artist, Karen Portaleo, who spent 18 hours fashioning vanilla cake and buttercream, with an Earl Grey tea soak, into the over-the-top confection.

In a two-minute video made by the event’s host, Georgia Public Broadcasting, Portaleo can be seen creating her work of art while actual scenes from the period drama are spliced in to make it seem like the characters are commenting on the cake.

No word on what Smith thinks of her sugary likeness but the show’s consultant, Alastair Bruce, attended the Atlanta premiere and made an observant comment. “He said the cake is so very American, which I thought was hysterical,” Portaleo told Today.com. “It is very American to create a human out of cake.”

Consider it the sweetest tribute of all.

Blue Bloods star Tom Selleck has a confession to make: After filming 99 episodes of CBS’s highly-rated drama, he still didn’t know whether he could call the show a hit.

“Each week we’d see the numbers and hear the positive feedback and reactions from viewers, but I didn’t want to jinx it,” Selleck tells PEOPLE. “But now, at 100 episodes, I can say that, yeah, we’re a hit.”

“I remember shows like Cheers and Seinfeld reaching this milestone, so it’s a big deal,” says co-star Will Estes. “Plus, I heard they’re bringing us a cake — it’s a win-win!”

So, what’s the secret to the series’ success? According to the cast, it all comes down to family.

“The Reagan family has a lot of love for each other, and you can see that during the family dinner scenes,” says Donnie Wahlberg. “It’s the main reason I did Blue Bloods in the first place. When I read the pilot script and heard how that dinner scene would be in every episode, I knew I had to be a part of it. I knew that would be the heart of the show.”

Agrees Estes: “Dinner scenes take a long time to film because everyone is at the table. Believe me, you don’t want to look at another green bean or lettuce leaf when you’re done, but they’re the most fun to film. All 100 of them have been a real blast.”

Adds Wahlberg: “And I can’t wait to get started on the next hundred!”

Watch the 100th episode of Blue Bloods on Friday, Jan. 9th at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.

Reason #987 to be jealous of Blue Ivy Carter: her awesome rainbow birthday cake.

Beyoncé and Jay Z gave a glimpse into their daughter’s 3rd birthday celebration when Beyoncé shared a photo of her giant snowflake ice sculpture and six-layer multi-colored cake on Instagram.

Instagram Photo

The overhead shot of Blue — who wore a pink dress adorned with bows to celebrate her big day on Jan. 7 — digging into the colorful cake got us hungry to recreate it at home.

Luckily, Rosanna Pansino, the baker and star of the YouTube cooking show Nerdy Nummies, created a do-it-yourself video for a similar dessert.

Follow the instructions or watch the video below and you’re practically on your way to becoming music royalty, too!

Instagram Photo

Rosanna Pansino’s Rainbow Cake
Makes 1 cake

3 boxes white cake mix
3 cups water, divided
9 egg whites, divided
1 cup vegetable oil, divided
Rainbow food coloring
Vanilla frosting

1. Preheat oven to 350°. Grease two 18-inch round cake pans with baking spray.

2. Combine 1 box cake mix with 1 cup water, ⅓ cup oil and 3 egg whites in a large bowl and whisk until blended. Separate half of batter into another large bowl. Mix purple food dye into one bowl and blue food dye into the other. Mix until the color is fully incorporated.

3. Pour batter from large bowls into pans. Bake for 35 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 two more times with green, yellow, orange and pink food dyes, spraying the pans before baking each layer.

5. Let cakes cool completely before frosting. Start with purple layer on the bottom and frost the top of each layer, stacking in rainbow order. Then frost on the sides and top of cake.

John Legend was sure feeling the love on his birthday!

The Grammy winner, 36, was feted with a star-studded party at Catch NYC thrown by his wife — and one of our favorite foodies — Chrissy Teigen.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, Robert De Niro and Grace Hightower, Padma Lakshmi, Katie Couric and John Molner, and Michael Strahan were among the 40 guests who enjoyed a 5-course private dinner prepared by the Meatpacking District hotspot’s executive chef Hung Huynh.

As the group sat down to dinner, “John pulled Chrissy’s chair out for her and gave her an affectionate kiss on the cheek as they sat,” a party goer tells PEOPLE.

On the menu: Crispy shrimp, the Catch Roll (crab, salmon and miso-honey), crunchy rice cakes (spicy tuna tartare with wasabi tobiko), sautéed snapper with lobster mash potatoes and truffles, crispy chicken, parmesan-truffle fries and applewood bacon brussels sprouts.

For (the first!) dessert, a pecan pie and chocolate cake was served as the group sang “Happy Birthday” to John, which Teigen followed with “For He’s A Jolly Good Fellow.”

After dinner, guests headed upstairs to Catch Roof to continue the party, which also celebrated the the 10th anniversary of Legend’s debut album “Get Lifted.”

There the lovefest continued. Kim and Kanye shared a sweet smooch and the birthday boy even got a kiss from Couric!

Winning a Golden Globe isn’t a piece of cake — but, according to Gina Rodriguez, it’s like eating one.

The sweet victory is “like eating red velvet and knowing it’s fat free,” Rodriguez told reporters Sunday after taking her first Globe for best actress in a TV series, musical or comedy, for her role in Jane The Virgin.

Rodriguez, 30, was up against Julia Louis-Dreyfus for Veep, Edie Falco for Nurse Jackie, Lena Dunham for Girls, and Taylor Schilling for Orange Is the New Black.

After delivering such an emotional acceptance speech, we think she deserves a big red velvet confection right now — fat, calories and all.

Oreo Unveils New Red Velvet Cookies for Valentine’s Day

Red Velvet Oreo

This is not a drill, people. And it’s not a way-too-early-to-be-funny April Fool’s joke, either.

Introducing new Red Velvet Oreos filled with cream cheese-flavored centers.

The limited-edition flavor will arrive in stores on Feb. 2 — just in time to be a part of the Valentine’s Day flood of red and pink foods — and sell for $4.49 for 6-8 weeks, or until packages run out.

We know that red velvet is heavenly in cakes, whoopie pies and even hot chocolate. But an Oreo? To find out, we let our staff of eager taste-testers sample and rate the new cookies:

The Design: It’s a standard Oreo set-up: Two cookie wafers with a sweet, white cream in the middle. The cookie bookends are chocolate flavored — like a traditional red velvet cake base — and dyed red (ingredient “red 40 lake” makes a not-so-surprising appearance on the back of the package). The filling is a “cream cheese flavored crème.”

The Scent: Opening the package for the first time, we smelled that unmistakable scent: cake. Specifically, it reminds us of those super-sugary, frosted confections that “you buy at the grocery store and serve at birthday parties at a bowling alley,” said one tester.

The Taste: When we pulled apart the cookie layers (like any good Oreo eater should do) and tasted the cookie wafers on their own, we found that they tasted just like regular chocolate Oreos, because, you know, they basically are — just with some red dye mixed in. The cream cheese center, however, is not-so-delicious on its own. It “very closely resembles the flavor of concentrated canned frosting,” said one staffer. Said another tester: “It’s not tangy, it doesn’t taste like cream cheese,” (probably because the ingredients don’t actually include any dairy) and it “leaves a very sweet, cloying taste in your mouth” when sampled solo.

When we put the sandwich back together, though, the crunchy chocolate cookies “balance out that sugary filling” said a staffer. It’s still a super-sweet bite — even more so than regular OREOs — but, “when the flavors combine, it’s yummy,” and certainly qualifies as a tasty guilty-pleasure treat.

The Verdict: It does not taste like real red velvet cake — did we really think it was going to? — but the flavors do work together. A 20-cookie package is worth the $5, if just so you can taste the novelty. Any Oreo fan will love dipping this new red treat into milk — but, said one tester, “If you’re an Oreo hater, these definitely won’t become your new favorite dessert.”

Camila Alves: See the Adorable Tractor Cake She Made for Her Son’s Birthday

Our new lifestyle blogger Camila Alves shares the story behind the healthy (but adorably kid-friendly!) birthday cake she made and decorated for her youngest son Livingston‘s 2nd birthday.

We celebrated Livingston’s birthday over the holidays with the whole family and a classic cake. But on his actual birthday, I wanted to make something healthier since the kids had plenty of treats over the holidays. That’s the time they get to have free days or special occasion days as I like to call them!

Camila Alves Cake width=Courtesy Camila Alves

I still wanted to celebrate and sing happy birthday on his birthday, so I decided to make a healthy, fruit-inspired cake. I believe finding the balance is key.

Livingston loves tractors more than anything, so I made one out of pineapple, kiwi, apple and carrots. For the grass, I used shaved apples tinted with green food coloring. The dirt behind the tractor – raisins, which are his favorite, and then I added berries around the edges. We added a candle and that was it!

It was a big hit all around and it only took me about 20 minutes to make. Nice, simple, and tasty! The kids had so much fun!

It’s never too late to celebrate a birthday if good food is involved, we always say.

January Jones — who turned 37 on Jan. 5 — gathered for her birthday on Saturday with good food, good buddies and a lot of fun at L.A.’s Hutchinson Cocktails & Grill.

“January seemed like she was having the best time with her friends,” a source tells PEOPLE. “There was a lot of laughing going on.”

With a group of 12 guests, the Mad Men actress dined on a variety of dishes from the Indonesian steakhouse.

The table started with crispy prawn lettuce cups; bami noodles with filet, pork, chicken, shrimp, and green beans; fried rice with chicken, pork, prawns and a fried egg; mushroom spring rolls and a green mango and papaya salad.

For the main course they enjoyed a tomahawk ribeye steak; whole lobster with melted butter, thai basil and grilled lemon and mac and cheese with aged gouda, toasted breadcrumbs and chives.

And for dessert, coconut and chocolate hazelnut ice cream cookie sandwiches were served and Jones got to blow out the candles on a red velvet, flower-topped cake.

“Thank you for coming friends! Best food ever!” she captioned a photo of herself from the night.

Say ‘Hello’ to Your Perfect Valentine: Red Velvet White Chocolate Chip Cookies

Baking addict Sally McKenney Quinn is the author of the popular blog and cookbook Sally’s Baking Addiction as well as PEOPLE.com‘s newest blogger. Check back each month for her latest easy-to-follow recipes! Warning: Don’t read when hungry.

Attention, red velvet lovers! I’ve got a Valentine’s Day cookie recipe just for you. These soft-baked cookies are full of red velvet flavors: lots of butter, lots of vanilla and a hint of cocoa. I typically make these cookies with semi-sweet chocolate chips but this year I’m all about the white chocolate.

My secret for soft cookies? A higher ratio of brown sugar to granulated sugar. Brown sugar is full of moisture while granulated sugar is on the dry side. This extra moisture helps keep your red velvet cookies soft for days and days. In fact, they are still soft on day 7 — if they can last that long!

Cookies 2
Sally McKenney Quinn

Chilling the cookie dough is important. Not only will this extra step firm up the soft dough, it will help the cookie dough develop extra flavor. Plus, chilling cookie dough prevents cookies from spreading in the oven as they bake.

Make a batch of these festive cookies for your sweetheart this Valentine’s Day. Don’t forget to save a few for yourself. You’ll be thankful you did!

Cookies 3
Sally McKenney Quinn

Sally’s Red Velvet White Chocolate Chip Cookies
Makes 18 cookies

1 ½ cups + 1 tbsp. all-purpose flour
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
½ cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature.
¾ cup light brown sugar
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tbsp. milk
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 ½ tbsp. liquid red food coloring
1 cup white chocolate chips (plus a few extra for after baking)

1. Toss the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt together in a large bowl. Set aside.

2. Using a handheld or stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, beat the butter on high speed until creamy, about 1 minute. Scrape down the sides and the bottom of the bowl as needed. Switch the mixer to medium speed and beat in the brown sugar and granulated sugar until combined. Beat in the egg, milk, and vanilla extract, scraping down the sides and bottom of the bowl as needed. Once mixed, add the food coloring and beat until combined. Turn the mixer off and pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Turn the mixer on low and slowly beat until a very soft dough is formed. Beat in more food coloring if you’d like the dough to be redder. On low speed, beat in the white chocolate chips. The dough will be sticky.

3. Cover the dough tightly with aluminum foil or plastic wrap and chill for at least 2 hours (and up to 4-5 days. Make sure you let the cookie dough sit out at room temperature for about 45 minutes before baking if chilling the cookie dough for more than 1 day.). Chilling is mandatory for this sticky cookie dough.

4. Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats. Set aside.

5. Scoop 1.5 Tablespoons of dough and roll into a ball. Place 9 balls onto each baking sheet. Bake each batch for 10-11 minutes. The cookies may have only spread slightly; simply press down on the warm cookies to slightly flatten and form crinkles. Stick a few white chocolate chips into the tops of the warm cookies – that’s optional and only for looks.

6. Allow the cookies to cool on the cookie sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 7 days. Baked cookies may be frozen for up to 2 months. Cookie dough balls may be frozen up to 2 months. Bake for 1-2 extra minutes (do not thaw).

How to Bake the Cupcake of Your Dreams

The only thing better than two-ingredient cupcakes? Baking the cupcake of your dreams.

Last year, cookbook author Tessa Arias of the blog Handle the Heat gave us the ultimate guide to baking your perfect chocolate chip cookie — whether that be cakey, chewy, crispy — and we were forever grateful.

Arias has once again made all our inner pastry chefs do a happy dance with “The Ultimate Cupcake Guide,” which breaks down how small changes in the flour, fat and baking temperatures yield different results. (Domed or flat, rich or crumbly, soft or slightly chewy, etc.)

Arias used a recipe for basic yellow cupcakes as the control, and then tested how cake flour, extra egg yolks, sour cream, oil and a lower baking temperature affected the cupcakes. She used the same utensils, techniques and ingredients to make sure the results were as consistent as possible.

Here are some of her key findings:

For a soft texture: Use half cake flour, half all-purpose flour (using all cake flour produced too-dry and crumbly results)
For a richer flavor: Use one or two extra egg yolks
For a denser, moist cake with a slight tang: Substitute sour cream for milk

Some of Arias’ trials did not yield positive results. Lowering the baking temperature from 350 to 325 resulted in soft, tender cupcakes that were very difficult to remove from the pan, and when oil was substituted for butter, the cupcakes had a spongy, muffin-like consistency and a not-so-delicious flavor — the oil taste was very pronounced. Arias doesn’t recommend incorporating these two changes into your next batch of cupcakes.

Whether you’re planning a romantic night with your sweetie or a “Galentine’s” Day girls-only fiesta this Feb. 14, there’s always a need for cake.

So we enlisted the help of Cake Boss star Buddy Valastro to create a sweet treat to impress your date(s).

Valastro, who has a full line of Cake Boss Cake baking products, shared a checkerboard red velvet and vanilla cake that holds special place in his heart — since he served it at his wedding!

Now, don’t be scared off by what may appear to be a very complicated dessert: The recipe is easy to master.

By cutting out circles of each layer, you’re able to create a checkerboard effect when you slice the cake open. Plus, there’s no need to bake from scratch — the recipe will work with your favorite red velvet and vanilla cake boxed mixes.

Checkerboard Cake
2 boxes red velvet cake mix
2 boxes vanilla cake mix
6 cups cream cheese frosting
1 package chocolate morsels
Red sprinkles

1. Bake and cool two 9-inch red velvet cakes and two 9-inch vanilla cakes as per box instructions.

2. Using a knife, trim off the top of all four cakes so each is flat and measures 1-inch thick; place in the freezer for 30-40 minutes.

3. Remove cakes from the freezer. Using a 3-inch cookie cutter, cut the center out of one vanilla cake. Continue to cut cake rings using a 5-inch and then 7-inch cookie cutters until you have four vanilla cake circles of varying sizes. Repeat the circle cutting in the remaining vanilla cake and the red velvet cakes until all cakes have been cut into cake rings.

4. Beginning with the 9-inch vanilla cake ring, begin assembling the checker pattern by interlocking the smaller red velvet cake circles inside smaller vanilla cake circles, alternating in flavor until you get to the center.

5. Repeat for the second layer, but start with the 9-inch red velvet cake circle and continue interlocking the smaller sized vanilla circle and so on. Repeat step 4 with the remaining pieces, beginning with the 9-inch vanilla cake circle.

6. Layer your cake beginning with the bottom cake layer, which will have a vanilla edge. Using a cake spatula, top the bottom cake layer with a layer of cream cheese frosting. Place the next cake layer with the red velvet cake edge on top and add another layer of cream cheese frosting.

7. Finish layering your cake with the remaining cake layers. Cover and smooth the top of the cake and the sides with cream cheese frosting.

8. Melt the chocolate morsels in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until fully melted and drizzle chocolate over the top of the cake using a fork or spoon. Finish the cake with red sprinkles.

We all know that Daenerys Targaryen‘s dragons are super fierce — and so are these Game of Thrones cupcakes created in their likeness.

JK Denim, the YouTube star behind funny cooking videos like Taylor Swift’s knife-stabbed ‘Blank Space’ cake, Eat You Feelings Pie and Cheating Boyfriend Cake, created easy-to-make cupcake toppers based on the dragons featured in the hit HBO series just for PEOPLE.

The best part? You could use store-bought cupcakes, if you’re so inclined (or lazy, like us) or you can whip up your own batch from scratch.

The resulting confections are so detailed and, honestly, a tad frightening — especially the one modeled after Drogon with its red and black wings. Watch the video above to learn how to make the scary dessert in your own kitchen and download the stencils here.

With her first child coming very soon, Jill Dillard must have other things on her mind than whipping up labor-intensive meals.

On Tuesday night’s 19 Kids and Counting, Dillard made one “one of her favorite cheesecakes” as part of a care package for her mother-in-law, Cathy Dillard, who was traveling to Nebraska for more cancer treatments.

The Duggar daughter shared the recipe on Instagram after the episode ran: “For those of you who asked for the No Bake Cheesecake recipe from tonight’s show on #19kids here it is,” Dillard wrote.

The best thing about this dessert? It calls for only four ingredients: cream cheese, powdered sugar, Cool Whip and a pre-made graham cracker crust. Dillard also suggests adding some “fresh fruit for a tasty topping.”

The recipe is also featured on the Duggar family’s website, along with a slew of other family favorites. (Grandpa Duggar’s Favorite Banana Cake, anyone?) Most of the recipes are “Duggar-sized” so you can eat until your reality-TV-loving heart is content.

The Duggar girls make no secret of their love for all things sweet: Jill and Derick Dillard’s 2014 wedding featured more than 600 cupcakes, while her younger sister Jessa opted for a fully stocked ice cream sundae bar for her nuptials to Ben Seewald last November.

Get the Duggars’ no-bake cheesecake recipe below and whip it up in your own kitchen for an easy-to-make treat.

The Duggar Family’s No-Bake Cheesecake
Makes: 1 heaping cheesecake; 2 thin cheesecakes; or 24 cheesecake cupcakes

2 12-oz. pkgs. cream cheese
1 cup powdered sugar
8 oz. Cool Whip
Vanilla wafers or pre-made graham cracker crust

1. Beat cream cheese & powdered sugar together & fold in Cool Whip. It will fill 24 cupcakes with a vanilla wafer in the bottom, or 1 graham cracker crust for a heaping cheesecake, or 2 graham cracker crusts for a thinner cheesecake.

Princess Kate’s Mother-in-Law Shows Off the World’s Most Charmingly English Cake

The Big Lunch

There is so much to adore about the cake that stole the spotlight at an event Tuesday hosted by Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall—and all of it is charmingly English.

Let’s start with the topper: a traditional English teapot, crafted from fondant. The second layer features a blue sky—okay, maybe not so English—and the third boasts chimney-adorned row houses.

But it’s the bottom layer that stole our Downton Abbey-loving hearts: Miniature versions of traditional English desserts, including trifles and finger sandwiches (and . . . pizza?), encircle the vanilla sponge cake, which featured a buttercream and raspberry filling and was crafted by The Cake Shop.

Camilla—otherwise known as Prince Charles‘s wife of nearly 10 years—hosted the event at Clarence House in London on Tuesday to launch The Big Lunch 2015, the U.K.’s annual get-together for neighbors to help build stronger communities.

The campaign aims to inspire 6.4 million people in the U.K. to attend a “Big Lunch” on June 7 to help improve community spirit.

Not only do we love this idea—whom can we petition to get it going over here? Big Brunch, maybe?—but we’re also wondering if Camilla will host a Big Lunch herself. Better yet, maybe her daughter-in-law—you know the one, Princess Kate—could contribute a dish or two in the potluck spirit.

Highclere Castle, the setting for Downton Abbey‘s English estate, boasts nearly 50 bedrooms, multiple libraries, a grand dining room, and sits on over 5,000 acres of land.

And while Princess Kate‘s visit to the set took her to Ealing Studios, where several of the show’s “downstairs” scenes are shot, one room seems to have stood out as her favorite: the kitchen.

And it’s easy to see why.

When Kate met “Mrs. Patmore” (played by actress Lesley Nicol) and “Daisy” (Sophie McShera), the two actresses presented the royal with a chocolate cake, complete with a crown-topped Downton emblem printed on the frosting.

To take the sweet treat home to Kensington Palace (and Prince George!), the Duchess was given a cake box that read: “To commemorate your visit to the Downton Abbey Kitchen, from Mrs. Patmore, Daisy, and the Team” as an added perk of her visit to the show’s studios.

“She spent the longest time in the kitchen, so me and Lesley [Nicol, who plays head cook Mrs. Patmore] are taking that as a compliment,” says McShera.

It’s long been known that both Kate and Prince William are big fans of the Masterpiece drama. The two spilled the secret of their Downton “addiction” to former cast member Jessica Brown Findlay, who played the Crawley’s daughter Sybil before her untimely death during the show’s third season.

Kate may not have tucked into the cake during her visit, but perhaps she wanted to wait to share it with the men in her life: William and little George.

Justin Bieber got one sweet ride for his 21st birthday!

After wrapping his Comedy Central Roast where celebs including Kevin Hart and Shaquille O’Neil didn’t hold back on the jokes — the pop star celebrated at Omnia Nightclub in Las Vegas, where he received a sweet surprise.

As an ode to Bieber’s newly acquired black Lincoln Continental, the pop star was presented with a cake in the shape of the 1965 car.

“We heard that he received a 1965 Lincoln Continental for his birthday present and everyone thought it would be a perfect idea to make his cake a replica of the car!” Kristen LoVullo, owner and head cake artist of Gimme Some Sugar tells PEOPLE.  “It was definitely a surprise for Justin!”

The hand-carved cake was “made with our vanilla cake with salted caramel buttercream filling covered and decorated with a high quality fondant,” LoVullo explains. “The car itself is 2 feet in length. It took over 20 hours to research, carve and detail the 1965 Lincoln Continental.”

So after all that hard work, what was the singer’s reaction? “We were told that Justin seemed to be thrilled when he saw the cake,” said LoVullo.

After the cake presentation the birthday boy continued the celebration at the exclusive Heart of Omnia lounge located inside club where he continued to party with pals including Kris Jenner.
